Estate planning equals peace of mind

Hunter Green and his wife, Kassie, relocated to Northwest Arkansas from Mountain Home to open the Green Law Firm, right at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. On March 20, 2020, they opened for business, first operating from a home office, just the two of them. Kassie, who serves as business manager, receptionist, “and everything in between,” says, “It was rough.” Unable to network and shake hands, they found it hard to get their name out, and there were other challenges too. “We couldn’t get a Google listing, and everything took ten times longer,” she says. They operated by Zoom calls and phone consults, but one plus was that it saved some funds for the future in overhead costs. After about six months, they moved into their current office in Lowell.

Hunter graduated from the University of Arkansas Leflar Law Center Magna Cum Laude, then moved back home to Mountain Home, where he and Kassie had four children. He practiced elder law and estate planning in Mountain Home, and at another firm in Northwest Arkansas, then ultimately decided on the goal of opening his own firm. They had always loved NWA, so made the move back with their four children in tow.

Hunter’s focuses are estate planning, elder law, probate and guardianships, and business formation and succession planning. Primarily, he finds himself working on elder law and estate planning, with the goal of his clients leaving with peace of mind. Hunter provides a “smooth and simple” process in which families are left without burden, children of elders are able to avoid court through probate, and leave satisfied, says Hunter. The important process “protects and preserves family assets,” he notes. One thing Hunter would like to see is “the younger folks,” he says. Young families often don’t think of the importance of establishing an estate plan until it’s too late. He stresses that it’s important to “get your ducks in a row and the proper documents in place. I’d like to see younger families planning in this way to avoid court through probate,” he notes.
